Can I take elderberry syrup while pregnant and/or breastfeeding?

I strongly encourage all mama's-to-be and mama's that are nursing to speak with their healthcare provider before taking any new dietary supplements. I used elderberry syrup throughout all three of my pregnancies and while I breastfed with the green light from my midwife.

What’s the difference between the original syrup and the kicked up syrup?

My Kicked Up Syrup is the same as my original syrup but with the added benefits of aronia berries (chokeberries), rose hips, echinacea, orange peel and star anise. I developed this blend for my family when we were struggling with  a bad cold that we could not shake. We had such great results from it that we wanted to share it with other families as well.

Is there anyone that should NOT take elderberry syrup?

For those with Autoimmune Disease, there is some evidence from studies that show elderberry may stimulate Th1 cells, so caution is advised!
